Royal Stage is a non-denominational Christian arts ministry,  committed to raising up godly artists, while also striving to reach the unbelieving community both locally and abroad.

 

Winter/Spring 2019 Classes

Preschool Classes (ages 2-5)

Pre-Ballet Mondays 10:30am (Ms. Emily); Pre-Ballet Saturdays 9:15am (Ms. Andrea + TBD)

Our pre-ballet classes are a perfect introduction into the world of dance, with a maximum class size of 10 and an engaging combination of ballet terminology & make believe play. Dress Code Requirements: pink, black, or white leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Skirt/tutu optional. Hair pulled back out of face.

cHILDREN’S CLASSES (ages 6-11); Youth Classes (ages 10-14)

Ballet I Mondays 4:00pm (Ms. Emily)

Geared toward the student with 0-2 years of ballet training, your child will learn basic ballet terminology, proper warm up techniques, barre exercises, center work, and progress through a piece of choreography scheduled to be performed at spring showcase on May 31-June 1. For ages 6-11. Dress code requirements: pink, black, or white leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Skirt optional. Hair pulled back out of face.

Ballet II Mondays 5:10pm (Ms. Emily)

Geared toward the student with 2+ years of ballet training, your child will learn more advanced terminology, barre exercises, center work, and progress through a piece of choreography scheduled to be performed at spring showcase on May 31-June 1. For ages 6-11. Dress code requirements: pink, black, or white leotard, tights, ballet shoes. Skirt optional. Hair pulled back out of face.

Cinderella Spring Musical Mondays 4:45pm (Ms. Tammy & Mr. Spencer)

Children currently in Kindergarten through 8th grade are invited to come participate in our spring musical, Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella. All who audition will participate in all aspects of theatrical production from acting and vocal techniques to set and props design. Dress code requirements: Comfortable, classroom appropriate clothes that students can move freely in. Cinderella performs April 12, 13, 14 and some weekend rehearsals are required closer to tech week.

Hip Hop Performance Team Mondays 6:00pm (Mr. Nathan)

Join this crew of hip hop dancers beginner through advanced, learning skills & choreography to then take on the road throughout Sacramento/Placer counties. Ages 12+. Dress code requirements: Modest clothing, no jeans. Sneakers required.

Children’s Hip Hop Tuesdays 5:00pm (Mr. Jimmie)

This hip hop class for kids aged 6-11 includes instruction in various urban dance styles, improvisation technique, and more. Dress code requirements: Modest clothing, no jeans. Sneakers required.

Children’s Contemporary Tuesdays 5:30pm (Ms. Sarah)

Contemporary dance embodies ballet, modern, jazz and lyrical. It uses technique such as ballet as its fundamentals and creates many more greater movements that do not adhere to the strict rules of ballet and modern. Come learn the basics through intermediate technique with this class for ages 6-11. Dress code requirement: Leotard under clothing, leggings or workout capris/sweats, modest tanks or tees. Hair out of face. Bare feet, jazz shoes, or foot paws.

Youth Acting Thursdays 4:45pm (Ms. Dejonna)

Come learn the fun of skits, scene study and original script creation in this class especially geared toward tweens and teens, ages 10-14! Ms. Dejonna’s high-energy class is a great way to catch the acting bug or continue to hone your skills for future auditions and productions. Dress code requirements: Comfortable, classroom appropriate clothes that students can move freely in.

Children’s Tap Thursdays 6:00pm (Ms. Tawnie)

This tap class for ages 6-11 is designed for the student with 0-3 years of tap experience. We will learn the basics as well as work on combinations and a routine to be performed in the spring. Dress code requirements: Tap shoes + comfortable, classroom appropriate clothes that students can move freely in.

Comedy & Improvisation Time/Day TBA (Mr. Spencer)

Focus on scene study and comedy/improv tips & techniques in this fun acting class geared toward youth aged 9-14. Sign up for this class to receive notification on day/time confirmation.

Youth Touring Company (Ms. Sam)

Contemporary dance troupe for ages 10-15, which performs locally around Sacramento/Placer counties, as well as occasional trips out of town as decided as a team. Touring Co members must have at least 3 years of formal dance training and are not permitted to miss more than 3 rehearsals from January-May.

Teen & Adult Classes
