Not all classes are offered for all terms. The descriptions below should be used to understand the class you are currently registered for - it is not necessarily a roster of current offerings.
Ballet
Pre-ballet students learn the fundamentals of dance such as positions, basic barre, across the floors and choreography paired with the freedom of creative movement our youngest dancers need.
Ballet I & II students learn novice to intermediate ballet technique, terminology, and choreography with 2-3 performance opportunities per year.
Teen/Adult Ballet (ages 12-adult) serves both the novice ballet dancer as well as the returning dancer with previous years of training. Novice to intermediate technique is taught.
Adult ballet is for students aged 18+ who prefer a class with a more mature population and the ability to move at a more customized pace. Students are invited to perform in showcases, but are not required to.
Tap & Jazz
Kids Tap/Jazz is a tap & jazz combination class for the dancer with 0-3 years of experience in tap and jazz. Class time includes technique, combinations, and choreography. Students may perform in one or both styles up to 3x per year.
Tween & Teen/Adult Tap are tap classes for applicable ages with novice to advanced experience in tap dance. Students learn at a pace set by the overall experience level of the students and are invited to perform up to 3 times per year at our showcase, but are never required to.
hip hop
Kids Hip Hop is for students ready for a high-energy class filled to the brim with both studio and street styles of dance and a chance to learn both choreography and improv.
Teen/Adult Hip Hop is for the older student looking to hone their skills or tap into a new form of fitness. Students with 0-4 years of hip hop experience will do well in this class.
Contemporary & Worship Dance
Kids Contemporary, Teen/Adult Contemporary Contemporary a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements.
Children’s Worship Dance Children enrolled in worship dance learn the basics of ballet and contemporary dance while learning how to express love for God through dance. Students will also learn biblical root language words associated with the importance of the arts.
Theater & Musical Theater
Acting/Theater I & II - Students learn scene study, improvisation techniques, comedic and dramatic acting skills, and work toward skits to be performed at our showcases.
Musical Theater Dance - Students learn the dancing styles seen in many Broadway shows, as well as family-friendly musical numbers from popular stage musicals.
Musical Theater - Full-scale musical theatrical productions. All who audition receive a role.
Creative Chapel - Students experience various forms of worship arts, discovering God through acting, creative movement, song, and art.
Costuming & Props for Theater -Students will learn the basics of costume design and prop creation, with their final products displayed onstage during one of our upcoming musical theater productions.
Parades Team - Students will learn jazz & show dance, participating in various local parades. The team season culminates with Disneyland’s Dance the Magic event in April.
Theater Tech - is geared towards anyone ages 12+ who are interested in learning the technical side of theater. There are six areas of technical theater: scenery, props, lighting, sound, costuming, and makeup. This Into course will focus primarily on lighting and sound, but will also provide basics for the other areas.
art
Students aged 8+ will learn various art disciplines and styles each term. Fall 2023 = still life and watercolors.
DISCIPLESHIP & OUTREACH
Go Deeper - Go deeper in your relationship with Jesus! Learn what it means to have your identity rooted in Christ through this devotional and Bible study. Study through the Word together, receive teachings on the topics being discussed, and gain confidence in who you are called to be. This is a safe place to ask questions, gain wisdom, have fellowship with other believers and be covered in prayer.
Dance evangelism & touring co
For dancers with at least a small amount of prior experience in dance. Build excellent technique in primarily contemporary and lyrical styles, study the Word of God to learn about His character, and learn how we can respond to Him in worship through dancing. Build choreography designed to draw yourself and others into worship. The goal of this class is to use some of these dances evangelistically, sharing with churches and the community Some field trips will therefore be involved, with optional attendance.
